Flynn’s the Bin: A New Adventure

I’m excited to share that my latest book, Flynn’s the Bin, is now published! The story is set in the vibrant insect city of Buzzington. It is tucked away in an overgrown garden. Readers are introduced to Flynn, a bug with a reputation for getting into trouble. With his big eyes and buzzing wings, Flynn has always been seen as the town’s messy misfit. Teased by the bees for his adventurous nature, he dreams of proving he’s more than just a bug.

When his best friend Marlowe, a moth with stunning wings, finds himself in danger, Flynn reacts quickly. His resourcefulness and unique abilities come to the fore. Together, they show the residents of Buzzington that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

Flynn’s the Bin is a story about friendship, acceptance, and finding your place in the world. It’s perfect for young readers who enjoy tales of courage and individuality. Available now on Amazon.

PhD Milestone Achieved

On another note, I’m pleased to share an update on my PhD journey. I recently passed my probation review, a key milestone in the process. While preparing for it was nerve-wracking, I’m thrilled with the outcome. The panel’s feedback was both encouraging and motivating:

The candidate has proposed an excellent research project that has the potential to make a valuable contribution to her field. Supporting documentation shows that significant preliminary thought has taken place, and this was complemented by an insightful presentation—where further nuances of the project were revealed—and a confident engagement with the panel interview. The panel was very impressed by the candidate’s performance in all areas, and her relevant background life and writing experience, as well as her realistic understanding of the scope and limitations of her project, mean that she is well placed to undertake this work.

I’m now awaiting ethical approval before moving on to the next phase of my research.

I look forward to sharing more updates soon.
