The competition, which invited participants to create their original characters, saw an array of imaginative submissions. From whimsical creatures to amazing photographs, each entry brought a unique flair to the table. However, Leo’s endearing portrayal of Frank and Bee captured the voters’ hearts and secured his win. Leo’s charming depiction of these furry characters stood out among the entries and will now take centre stage in Trapped Tails like this.

Thank you to every one of you who participated in the competition and took the time to vote. Your support and enthusiasm, individually and collectively, have helped bring it all to life.
In other delightful news, I met a baby squirrel yesterday while walking the hounds. While our furry friend may not have been as adventurous as Frank and Bee, it was a charming encounter I’d waited over 50-odd years for. My book Abi, Squirrel, and the Whole Heap of Trouble,, tells the story of how, when I was growing up, I created an imaginary squirrel to blame all my naughtiness on. If you haven’t already got a copy, go to my Store page or Amazon to buy it as a bank holiday treat.

Most importantly, though, if you ever find yourself face-to-face with a baby squirrel, make sure you follow the advice and guidance given by the RSPCA.
I’ll say I just wanted to keep cuddling it, but we left him safely tucked up in the bushes next to the tree he’d fallen from, and we hope his mum comes along and rescues him ASAP.
Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.
